We received a warm welcome from Mark and Jenni.The room was in keeping with the house decor and it was clean.The bathroom was next door.Plenty toiletries provided - the shower is very dated,but it had lashings of hot water.Breakfast was amazing and such a great selection of local produce.Waitresses and Jenni so attentive.Lovely dining room.- Avril M
This was the best Guest House we have ever stayed in. We parked up outside this imposing traditional large house. Jenni gave us a genuine warm welcome. We were shown into the very imposing entrance and hallway. Stunning. We were given a tour of the lounge (with open honesty bar), the breakfast room (invited to choose our table), the quiet small lounge on 1st floor, and our room. All rooms have beautifully painted name tiles on the doors. The house is tastefully decorated with ornaments, paintings and artefacts (possibly from Jenni and Mark’s travels).When we returned from dinner (at the nearby The Rockies only 5 mins walk and delicious food) we spent time in the lounge. We played dominoes while having a drink and then chatted to another couple when they returned after dining at The Waterside.Our room (no 5) was roomy with a huge bed adorned with luxurious bedding and cushions. Despite being at the front of the house the room was quiet. Quality tea, coffee and hot chocolate. We were offered fresh milk as an alternative to carton milk. A large glass bottle of tap water was also provided. The white bedding and towels were all luxurious.Breakfast was amazing. A huge selection of cereals, fruit and yogurt. All ingredients of the cooked breakfast (you order what you would like) were top quality and perfectly cooked. We thoroughly enjoyed eating in the airy room listening to gentle jazz music and talking to other guests. Service was very good.Jenni and Mark run a fantastic establishment in such a professional way. Their staff are very well trained and efficient.We had such a delightful stay.Jenni and Mark are selling up and whoever buys this going concern have a lot to live up to.We will return next year and look forward to being greeted by the new owners.Thanks Jenni and Mark and good luck in your move. - Alison & Steve Taylor
What a wonderful 2 night stay we had. The room was lovely, the view great. The breakfast was amazing, quality ingredients cooked to perfection.The owners & staff friendly & welcoming.We loved Anstruther, a beautiful wee village with so much to see & do in the local area.- Lynn G
